Family of California woman who died after being denied CPR says she wanted no intervention
Tue Mar 5, 2013
I have to agree with those who say that doing CPR on an 87-year-old can also be monstrous. CPR is a brutal procedure that at best causes pain and bruising and at worst causes broken bones. My mother had a DNR, and had been hoping to die for many months before she finally did (at age 91).
Florida man accused of fraud after name change in "act of love"
Tue Jan 29, 2013
Good grief! What a typically bureaucratic waste of time and resources, never mind the harrassment of a perfectly law-abiding citizen!
NRA lobbyist: Pro-gun ad referring to Obama's children 'ill-advised'
Sat Jan 26, 2013
The ad may have been ill-advised, but that doesn't make it any less true. Obama shamelessly used the Sandy Hook deaths to further his own agenda--that was also offensive.
Once again, Michelle Obama dazzles in inaugural gown by Jason Wu

Realist, you almost took the words right off my keyboard. This whole article appears to be lauding the frivolity of the First Lady, but had it been the Romneys doing the same thing, they would have been labeled as "elitists." One one hand, I really don't give a fried fig what the First Lady wears.
We're unhealthier than everyone else – and it's our own fault

The only reason why candy bars are more profitable than carrot sticks is because people CHOOSE to buy them! It still all boils down to personal responsibility. No one is forcing you to pick up that candy bar at the grocery store aisle, and nobody is cramming it down your throat.
Sen. Crapo pleads guilty to DWI, seeks 'forgiveness and repentance'
Fri Jan 4, 2013
As a constituent, of course I am disappointed in Mike Crapo for what he has done, but I am also proud of him for not trying to weasel out of it with some lame excuse, but instead just going in, pleading guilty, and taking his punishment.
Obama: GOP's insistence on halting tax hikes for the wealthy is stopping fiscal cliff deal
Sun Dec 30, 2012
Folks, the same PEOPLE who elected Obama also elected a Republican Congress to keep him from doing any more damage. While Obama may have retained the White House, the fact is that the American public did not have enough faith in him to give him carte blanche.

After Newtown, some parents impose (toy) gun control
Thu Dec 27, 2012
In reply to: BA Miller Stacey #121 The "infancy" of the country had nothing to do with the right to bear arms--it is in the Constitution because our forefathers understood all too well that only an armed citizenry can stand up to a tyrannical government. If anything, having just thrown off a …
Guns flood into police buyback programs, though critics have doubts about the idea
Thu Dec 27, 2012
Yet another utterly USELESS waste of taxpayer dollars, never mind that it does NOTHING to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. As the author pointed out, the guns bought back are the LEAST apt to be used in crimes, and are often old or malfunctioning.
